South of Kingswood is a large swathe of open countryside that is owned by many landowners and would be difficult to aggregate to create a new settlement. The open countryside south of Kingswood is an ideal opportunity to encourage the landowners to utilise the land for biodiversity net gain that will be needed for the intensity of housing that can be better built elsewhere. The technical evidence supports the view that there is limited scope for employment within reasonable travelling time. Lapworth is a growth village and C1 would merge with it and result in creating a huge settlement.

Site is green belt land. Risk of urban sprawl. Lack of infrastructure to accommodate the number of houses proposed- narrow roads, low railway bridges, multiple canal bridges, limited train service, very limited bus service. No gas pipeline in the area, frequent power cuts.

Punching a hole in the green belt for a new development is preferable to towns and villages sprawling into each other.

If such a large development is to go ahead it must be accompanied by adequate infrastructure. Lapworth is a small, rural village with narrow roads, an oversubscribed GP practice and a small primary school. It cannot accommodate a large number of new dwellings.

Building on beautiful green belt countryside next to Baddesley Clinton House and St Michael's church would be an act of vandelism. The development is also very close to Hay Wood, an ancient woodland and appears to involve destroying Rowington Coppice, another ancient woodland. The propsed settlement is not close to main highways and local roads would not be able to cope with the volume of additional traffic. This will negtively affect highway safety. The local infrastructure, including the GP surgery and local schools would be unable to cope. There are few employment opportunites in this area.

The proposed development in Lapworth is a significant concern for several reasons. The already overcrowded Lapworth Train Station lacks sufficient parking, and the local train services are at capacity with no plans for additional trains. The village also faces frequent power cuts, suggesting the infrastructure can’t support more demand. The site lies within flood zones, posing safety risks. Additionally, the development could severely impact local wildlife and ecosystems. This proposal would put immense pressure on the village’s infrastructure, environment, and quality of life for residents, and it should be reconsidered.

I strongly oppose this as it would NOT preserve the existing community's character and property values, I fear the increased traffic, infrastructure strain, and overcrowding. I have strong Environmental concerns like loss of green space, wildlife disruption, and water resource impact. I also have concerns regarding zoning violations and lack of transparency of the planning of this future settlement. I believe there is a strong need to protect the current quality of life and environmental integrity of the area.

Current road access is poor with narrow lanes, single lane bridges, and road flooding. The train station parking is often full, very limited, and trains are infrequent (~every 2 hours). WCC’s adopted Rail Strategy states that the lines are ‘at capacity’, as noted in the IDP, so it is unclear how capacity on the rail line could be expanded. 20 minute neighbourhood principles would be impossible without substantial rail capacity improvement, as most employment is not local. The site is in the middle of the Heritage land of Arden. Existing sewage, electrical, and drainage infrastructure is already under strain.

The infrastructure supporting Lapworth is just not robust. Access roads from M42 jct 5 are lanes which Sat Nav takes you down. These lanes are rural, single (Chessetts Woor rd, Rising lane, Mill lane) which are already congested in rush hour & weekend. Horses, bikes, cars, pedestrian routes from Packwood to Baddersley with no footpath. Lots of photos for evidence

I have outlined the reasons for my objection based on the following :
1. Site location would be inappropriate development of the Green Belt made up of Open Countryside and Agricultural land, some of which is designated as a Conservation area with ancient woodland and local wildlife sites.
2. Size of the Proposed New Settlement is too small based on SWLP criteria and will not meet sustainable development needs
3. Inadequate Transport with local rail, bus and road infrastructure links unable to cope with additional housing planned
4. Public services are wholly inadequate and would require significant investment in infrastructure

Noooo- the area around the proposed C1 growth area is already congested. Many roads are rat runs & are only single lanes. The National Trust properties of Baddersley & Packwood attrack thoundsands of visitors are weekend & conjestion was observered only today (Sunny Sunday) in Mill Lane , Chessetts Wood Rd & Rising Lane, all of which are single track but are main rat runs from M42

This site is valuable green belt, the area is unspoilt, with pristine countryside. This should not be lost. There is no advantage in terms of infrastructure - other than proximity to Lapworth railway station, there is no access to the M40 and the B4439 through the site is completely unsuitable for the additional traffic generated by an increase in housing. It is a narrow and hilly road with sharp bends and dips which runs close to existing housing. Greater traffic use of the B4439 would be dangerous. Also, there are insufficient community facilities currently available in Rowington and Kingswood.

I believe the propose location is not suitable for the following reasons 1) Lack of Road Infrastructure, the roads cannot cope at the moment. 2) Unique country area popular for people visiting due to the National Trusts, Canals, Woodland and Fields Walks, and Pubs. Tourism is significant here. 3) Surrounded by Warwick, Solihull, Dorridge, Knowle, Kenilworth and is this area is going to be a new Epicenter of housing. 4) Schools, Drs and other facilities already struggling.

This site is not accessible, being located on the B4439 at great distance from amenities and emergency services. Lapworth railway station has 14 car parking spaces, expansion of the car park is constrained by existing properties and proposed development elsewhere in call for sites. This development would result in long commutes and car travel on inappropriate roads in the vicinity - narrow lanes, weak canal bridges, low railway bridge. Existing local infrastructure would not support the quantum of residents without significant capital (and future maintenance) expenditure on road junctions, street lighting, pavements, schools, health and leisure facilities,

The infrastructure for this development does not exist. The Railway is now at capacity and only has 16 parking spaces with no potential for extension. The Doctors Practice is now at capacity and cannot undertake anymore patients.
the School is virtually at capacity. The is no Gas in the area so all power is from the electricity supply. We frequently have power cuts due to the fragile supply. We desperately need to maintain our green belt as it is a huge asset to the area having two National Trust properties which are enjoyed by hundreds of people including local residents.

Proposal is extremely close to two popular Midlands National Trust properties and this development will remove precious green space enjoyed by the whole of the district.
The roads surrounding the C1 development are largely rural roads with little street lighting, few pavements and numerous with 60mph speed limits.
Our area suffers frequent power cuts already without the draw of a further 4000+ properties.
Lapworth railway station only has 16 car park spces with no capacity for expansion, this is not a viable station to take a large increase in commuter traffic.

This plan would have a very negative impact on local traffic, as the only main road is already winding and occasionally difficult and there are frequent accidents. I also object to good agricultural land being built on, especially at a time when national security concerns suggest that food security has assumed great importance. It would have a very negative imact on a community where services are already stretched, and there is virtually no publc transport aprt from an occasional train at Lapworth.

There is a lack of suitable infrastructure in the existing settlements of Lapworth, Kingswood and Rowington. Doctors surgery at capacity. Limited additional capacity at primary school, no secondary. Frequent electricity power cuts. No natural gas. Poor mobile phone signal. No bus service. Inadequate rail service with limited parking ‐ Station Lane experiences parking chaos at school opening and closing. Road network surrounding C1 is mostly narrow lanes, single track in places. Rail line and canals are barriers. Loss of green space amenity. Development would only be tolerable if full infrastructure requirements are concurrent with housing development, highly unlikely.

This area provides an environment for people from all over the midlands to come and walk, cycle , run and visit the the various national trust properties, invaluable for mental health as witnessed especially during covid.
The area is susceptible to flooding , and on a positive provides a natural habitat for deer, badger, newts as well as nesting swans and migrating geese.
Additional residents will be forced to travel to warwick / solihull for schools and shopping, putting further stress on an already challenged road network.
This area needs protecting for the 1000's who visit annually

This large development could increase the population by 5 to 6 times, yet there is insufficient infrastructure to support it. Additional funding for new primary and secondary schools is unclear, and the existing medical practice is already struggling with limited resources. Public transport is inadequate, relying heavily on cars. Even if houses are affordable, running cars is not. The proposal threatens to destroy greenbelt land and ancient sites, negatively affecting wildlife. Additionally, the lack of interest from local landowners indicates a lack of support, suggesting the site fails to meet sustainability criteria.

The land proposed is green belt and as such should not be used for development. The current road infrastructure will not be able to cope with the extra volume of traffic generated by additional residential homes. The area is know for its rural feel and lovely landscape. This would be destroyed and the character of the area would completely change. The local school and doctors surgery will not be able to cope with additional numbers that would be created by the development.

This is green belt land which we love for walking and cycling and is rich in wildlife which we love.
More houses mean local infrastucture-doctors, schools, roads won't cope e.g. Hockley Heath Straford Road junction with Old Warwick Road, Lapworth Surgery.

I am expressing my concerns about the proposed SG24 site development. This plan contradicts the Council's sustainable planning strategy by destroying Green Belt and would lead to significant overcrowding and urban sprawl in Hockley Heath, an area already lacking crucial infrastructure and services. The absence of gas, limited public transport, and insufficient job opportunities raise serious questions about the feasibility of new 'affordable' homes. The potential environmental impact, including damage to local wildlife and increased pollution, is alarming. I urge you to consider these points seriously in the consultation process.

Better to put an isolated hole in the Green Belt near transport links than induce sprawl of larger towns towards each other.
