Land is in lower priority area within greenbelt, 7 other sites are either higher priority or not in Green belt. One site is Brown field, high priority and outside green belt with higher capacity. There is not evidence that Greenbelt lad is required. Transport links are also a major issue, The proposed cycle route is not practical, narrows to 3 foot under A46 bridge and Rail Bridge plus crosses Timothy bridge Rd. The only station connected to Birmingham at Wilmcote has no access for disabled passengers to as the station building is privately owned, the platform been only 3m wide.

The increase in cars cutting through our village in Snitterfield is concerning. The roads near the school are already congested and I'm concerned for the safety of children in the village. The A46 is already treacherous near Stratford-upon-Avon. The rural transport links here are poor. This will create air pollution and make the roads more dangerous. The impact on the flood plains in the region are also concerning. How will the extensive built on area be mitigated without runoff and flooding in the region.

This area considerably relies upon its unique local tourism (local and UK economy) and is the guardian of this associated and unique, cultural and rural heritage - that of Shakespeare and the Warwickshire rural heritage. This development would forever destroy a significant amount of this associated rural heritage, associated with a world renowned tourism aspect of UK culture.

Wilmcote is a GreenBelt conservation area with Historic Heritage and character landscape providing cultural, tourism/local economy. Roads in and out already a Rat Run, traffic and congestion increase expedential/wear on Wilmcote rural roads/junction A3400, in turn affects Stratford economy. Cars needed to use Railway, Station road too congested for extra parking/safety/pollution. Commercial vehicles go through Wilmcote due to A3400 junction queues, cause bridge damage. Land best/versitile Agricultural for food security on GreenBelt not Greybelt. No protection from urbanization. Wildlife Habitats on Land and Canal destroyed. Flood Risk trippled. Severe impact on community health and safety. Heritage damage/loss for future generations.

I would like register my strong opposition to these proposals. The sites that are earmarked are green belt countrywide which support a huge diversity of irreplaceable fauna, flora and wildlife habitats. The local infrastructure does not have the capacity to support the huge volume of new residents that would accompany said developments and any suggestion that Wilmcote and Bearley railway stations can somehow be upgraded to accommodate an massive influx of users and parked cars is unrealistic. I appreciate that there has to be development, but the geographical area that is being proposed is totally unsuitable.

Land is totally unsuitable. No infrastructure to support this number of houses, cost of provision is prohibitive, road access via A46 and A3400 is already congested. It would be impossible to expand these roads (which don’t align with greener policies or reducing car use). Traffic through Wilmcote’s narrow roads would snarl-up, it’s already a rat run to avoid the A3400. Building over green belt agricultural land leads to pollution, further food insecurity (we import over 60% already) and blights open countryside, limiting leisure facilities and nature. This would increase settlement size by 800%, completely unnecessary and detrimental.

Unnecessary as there are other much more suitable sites. This site is nowhere near any employment and although near a very small train station, it would be difficult to see how the current inadequate train service on this line would cope. considerable additional infrastructure would be required. Above all, the nature of these historic villages would be destroyed forever, and this does not align with using brownfield land.

As this development is on green belt land, we would not support this site as a priority for development, unless there were significant steps taken to avoid or mitigate any loss of biodiversity and carbon sequestration/climate change mitigation.

I had the privilege of having grown up in Wilmcote and come from a long line of generations to have lived in this lovely village, I attended the village school, worked in both the stores & pub & a lot of my family still reside in the village. Although, I understand houses need to be built, 7000 is obscene, unfathomable. We haven't the infrastructure, roads, jobs to support this. Not withstanding the decimating of a huge ecosystem and wildlife this will result in, it's absolutely heartbreaking. This will destroy the environment & destroy all the towns/villages in the surrounding areas.

This part of green belt performs strongly against the green belt purposes and should be retained. In addition, existing infrastructure including Bearley train station and Birmingham Road (A3400) is woefully inadequate for such a large number of houses.

While this proposed settlement has benefits in that it is on a rail line, it is small to medium size, and therefore is unlikely to generate significant employment. Stratford town centre is less than 3 miles away, but providing an effective active travel link will be challenging, unless the railway line and services are upgraded. Probably it would languish as a dormitory settlement. The southern section of BW is too close to Stratford and, particularly if the SG18 extension to Stratford (north of Bishopton) is implemented, there would be a real danger of the two towns merging into one conurbation.

Area fragmented by landowners not wanting to sell or have their land developed.
Misleading and inaccurate area on the interactive map leading to unreliable consultation results.
Green belt area sufficiently far away from areas offering work / that residents want to visit, which would lead to traffic congestion rather than rail travel. Current rail provision does not offer fast enough travel to Leamington / Birmingham / London.

I strongly object to the inclusion of the BW site in the SWLP due to its unsuitability for development. The plan contains critical errors, including misrepresenting transport infrastructure by referencing a non-existent rail link and overstating Bearley Station’s capacity. The A3400 is already severely congested, and further development would worsen traffic and safety risks. Flood risks have been understated, and the proximity to Stratford-upon-Avon has been misclassified. The proposal also contradicts Green Belt policies, ignoring available non-Green Belt alternatives. Additionally, inadequate SSSI protections threaten biodiversity. Proceeding with this flawed proposal would be unsound and open to legal challenge.

BW Land at Bearley and Wilmcote: The site (329ha) lies between the railway line and the A3400 Stratford-Birmingham road plus some land around the village of Bearley. It is Green Belt, valuable farmland and crossed by footpaths. It forms part of the rural view on road and rail journeys to/from Stratford. It meets the purposes of including land in Green Belt.
The A3400 is a busy road without bypasses (W-Wawen, Henley) so should not have more traffic. Trains on the railway need shorter journeys that now, so a stop at Bearley is undesirable.
Location X1 should not be pursued further.

Road traffic will be problematic - the A3400 South into Stratford gets very clogged up at busy times. Henley in Arden already suffers from major jams due to A3400 traffic, which is far too heavy for this historic town.
Train transport for commuters is very limited - Wilmcote and Bearley both have tiny stations without parking, and trains are slow and infrequent. Buses are even fewer. Excess road traffic will be forced to go through other small local villages.
The area is prone to flooding and roads being closed/unpassable.
Beautiful woodland and animal habitats will be lost forever

the local infrastructure is not large enough to cope with the existing amount of residents. The roads are already gridlocked leading to Stratford (not just at peak times!), the local train stations are small, with little car parking, to cope with the extra.
The area suffers with terrible flooding, which will only be made worse by all the extra concrete, hard standing and surface run off.
Also, the area suggested between the two villages is prime agricultural land that should be retained for the purpose of crop production. It is in an area of green belt and should be preserved.

I strongly object to the proposed 6,700-home development between Wilmcote and Bearley due to catastrophic impacts on the Green Belt, infrastructure, and local communities. This proposal violates national planning policy, overloads roads and public services, and lacks employment opportunities, turning the area into an unsustainable commuter settlement. No provisions for schools, healthcare, or flood prevention exist, exacerbating existing pressures. Wilmcote and Bearley would be permanently destroyed as rural villages, swallowed into an urban sprawl. This is irresponsible, unjustified, and wholly inappropriate. I urge planners to reject this reckless proposal in full.

This area is crazy. It is green belt countryside, with a vast array of wildlife. It is also a huge agricultural area, we should be supporting local farmers and locally grown produce.
Some areas are also prone to flooding.
There is no infrastructure for more housing...the Birmingham road already cannot cope with the traffic. Not enough doctors/dentists/hospitals/schools. Public transport rubbish...train line has very few useful trains, buses are irregular.
There are far better areas for new houses, with better infrastructure and opportunities. Totally bonkers to put it here!

Site has some advantages, transport links OK (road + rail), closer to infrastructure/Stratford, north of Stratford - not impacted by road & river/bridge bottlenecks. Road from Bearley into Stratford does experience some congestion.
Several local wildlife sites would be impacted here - Newfoundland Wood LWS, Stratford Canal PLWS, River Avon LWS and Wood by Churchill.
Site not as poor choice as E1 (which is appalling from an access & transport links point of view & totally the wrong location for large development, surrounded by B roads), but there are better options for housing provision still.

This is a rural site that is not well suited to such a large-scale development, for the following reasons: - Unnecessary development on Green Belt land - Increased traffic through small rural and village roads - Increased air and noise pollution - Damaging biodiversity, destroying green spaces and wildlife habitats, and loss of protected trees - A settlement divided by a major A road (A3400), creating a safety risk to pedestrians and children crossing to access amenities such as schools - Strain on the infrastructure such as GP surgeries, utilities and water supply - Increased risk of flooding

I strongly object to the proposed development between Bearley and Wilmcote, citing flawed evaluations and misrepresentations. Key concerns include inadequate transport infrastructure, inappropriate use of Green Belt land, failure to consider SSSI and biodiversity, and misrepresentation of environmental factors like flooding. The proposal risks safety due to increased traffic, threatens biodiversity, and overlooks significant flooding risks. The process is criticised for inaccuracies and ignoring key documents. The objection concludes that the development would be costly and not align with strategic goals or planning policies.
