Bearley to Wilmcote is a rural area and part of the green belt, lots of animals have been spotted on walks through the countryside. On the one hand we are meant to be looking after the planet but if money talks enough then that goes out of the window. The canal is home to a range of animals, this will become polluted with the increase of humans. The railway stations would need a huge injection of money - no facilities, no car parks, very rare trains too. Protect Snitterfield from increased traffic, school and nursery children will be at risk.

I absolutely do not agree with this proposal. It poses a large threat to my home, wilmcote. Mary Ardens farm will suffer in this effort to extend our villages. We dont want conjestion, busy roads and destruction of wildlife!!!
I am a young person and for people to come and take away land that belongs to nature, It is an insult!! Wilmcotes heritage, wildlife, history and individuality will be destroyed.
Dont make that mistake!

1) An enormous increase in population would cause a big problem for our infrastructure I.e Gp surgeries, utilities & water supply.2) Our roads are unable to take anymore traffic. It is already difficult to get into S on A by the A 3400 Birmingham Rd, also with increased traffic around the village with our narrow roads this would present a serious hazard.3)The flooding made worse. 4)What about the wild life which we have a lot. 5) Increased air & noise pollution. 6) Serious impact on historical/heritage village/ Mary Arden’farm

1.Wilmcote is currently a historic village in Green Belt land with a Shakespeare tourist connection. This environment will be ruined if the area is joined to the Stratford ribbon development and becomes just a part of Greater Stratford.
2. Housing on this scale will cause problems for a sustainable drainage system. After heavy rain there has already been flooding on the A3400 at the A46 roundabout and at the Bearley railway bridge. The proposed new housing ,driveways and road structure will increase rainwater run-off and require a substantial upgrade of the of the sewerage systems.

Long list of reasons why the proposed development is a bad idea and I question the ability of whoever decided it was a good plan.
- Stratford traffic already terrible and single carriageway. Not a debate there.
- 6000 homes a ridiculous number (2000% increase?!) Far less (meaning 25%) and perhaps there's a way. 100 homes on a small field in Bearley doesn’t work. No infrastructure already. Less homes and develop the space. Shops, schools, doctors etc.
- Wildlife. Theres loads. Owls, Kites, Deer, Muntjacs etc.
- Flooding. Grange Road is a valley already. More development will cause more floods.

Transport would be a major issue, and even though there is a train station, its not suitable for increase usage.
The increased traffic would be dangerous to the surrounding villages and their residents.
There is not currently suitable provisions in the local area in Schools/Doctors/Hospital to support the size of the development.

More affordable housing, more jobs and growth – all good things. I’ve lived in S-o-A for 30 years but seen the town authorities ‘played’ by developers with the resulting infrastructure chaos. I’ve skim read the Infrastructure Delivery Plan – it talks a good game but experience tells me it means nothing. This proposed huge settlement will have massive implications for the area and I’m not confident that the council authorities have the competence to deliver the solutions for such a large project based on what I have witnessed so far. Go for the smaller options.

No building in green belt
Train infrastructure inadequate, infrequent trains, no direct routes to cities.
A3400 would not cope with 10k extra cars, it floods in Bearley from fields proposed for building. Fields also flood.
Local B roads flood and become dangerous as traffic would use as cut throughs for local small villages, they are not suitable.
No school, shop or pub in Bearley.
My commute to Warwick not possible on public transport so not self sustainable, all residents need cars in rural location.
Deer and other wildlife live in woods and use fields behind Snitterfield Road and around village.

I strongly oppose the development proposal near Wilmcote and Bearley. Having grown up in the area, I know that a mass build such as this will destroy the landscape and thriving communities. The proposal will also increase traffic in a strained and flooded area, not to mention the wildlife.

• Decimation of the character of the area • Irreversible negative impact on local flora & fauna • Unprecedented abuse of Green Belt land • Inadequate infrastructure. Local 'country roads' would be used to access the A46/M40 causing major congestion, degradation of local villages and an increase in potential accidents/road-related injuries, deaths. • Adding circa 15K vehicles will adversely Impact local roads. The system would not cope with such additional capacity. • Increased risk of danger/injury to school children accessing multiple schools in the vicinity • General area prone to flooding inc A34. Salters Lane frequently impassable.

Building in this area will have a devastating impact on the surrounding villages of Stratford - Wilmcote, Bearly, Pathlow, Aston Cantlow, Snitterfield; including the outskirts of Stratford itself. The Birmingham road into Stratford is continuously congested; approximately 6000 new homes with residents will not ease this pressure. Warwickshire is known for its rural nature, much of which plays a key role in supporting natural wildlife in these green spaces. Deer inhabit near / on the proposed plan site. Local residents oppose these plans - ‘village life’ would appear to be no longer with busier roads, pollution, lack of green space, habitat loss.

Unnecessary development on Green Belt. Let's preserve our Green Belt!
Damage of Biodiversity, Loss of protected trees, woodland, meadows, hedges and breakdown of vital wildlife corridors
Thousands more vehicles flooding, meaning more risks of accidents, more traffic jams, more pollution and noise, more danger for our kids on the streets
Our infrastructure will be swamped, our villages don't have the capacity to absorb an increase of 2000%
More artificialisation means floodings will be worse.
NO, NO, NO, we don't want another 6,800 new houses.

The expansion will overwhelm our area. The roads are already congested with heavy traffic and getting around Stratford takes forever, services are already overstretched, Doctors, car parks, supermarkets etc. Local roads currently flood frequently and wildlife such as bats, deer and birds suffer daily from increasing traffic and their environment will be destroyed. This will turn Stratford and surrounding villages into another over developed, gridlocked town which is unpleasant, stressful
and dangerous for everyone. Stratford has a massive influx of tourists and cannot sustain this alongside 6800 more houses. This plan is unsustainable and destructive to both community and environment.

The historically important village of Wilmcote does not have the road infrastucture to cope with a new town being joined on to it. The traffic conjestion from Wilmcote to Stratford is already a serious problem at peak times and even if there were the huge amount of investment available to provide the necessary road improvements, there isn't enough space available along the Birmingham Road for this. New home owners will either be driving towards the A46 Stratford roundabout ,(which already has peak-time long queues), or right, towards Henley in Arden which is also a bottle-neck at peak times.

The site is unsuitable for development due to the lack of infrastructure to adequately and sustainably cater for the amount of new residents in this development. The site has no eastern connection route due to the railway and canal apart for the inadequately sized crossing point at Wilmcote. There is no carparking at Wilmcote station to cater for the amount of expected commuters and suitable public footpaths or cycle ways to get to Wilmcote station from the proposed area. There is no direct route to Birmingham from Bearley Station. The amount of upfront investment needed makes this site unviable.

This is an unnecessary development on green belt land, that would swamp local services and create noise and air pollution, while destroying wildlife. This is a 2000% increase in population - ridiculous to pretend this is an appropriate level of development. The roads that I use for running, dog walking and walking with young members of my family would be flooded with traffic, where roads in and around stratford are notoriously prone to jams as is. Please reconsider this location, it is entirely inappropriate.

I do not agree:
It is unnecessary development on green belt land which will damage the biodiversity of the area.
It will breakdown valuable wildlife corridors between Bearley and the surrounding villages.
The existing highway infrastructure (A3400/ A46 Junction) will not be able to cope with the increased volume of traffic.
The existing rail links are not adequate to meet increased demand.
There will be increased air, noise and light pollution.
Flooding to existing roads and properties will be made worse.

This would seem to have excellent rail connectivity with two existing stations to choose from. It would need some decent active travel links to Stratford though (you can't just rely on the canal as that's muddy and narrow by Wilmcote). If SG18 is also being built there would be very little gap between the expanded Stratford and this new settlement, so hopefully active travel infrastructure for both could be considered together, along with some rural employment space to keep some residents working locally.

GP surgeries, utilities, and water supply are not designed to support a 2000% increase in population.
Flooding made worse- to existing properties and roads, as well as the new development.
The loss of protected trees, woodland, meadows and hedges.
Breakdown of wildlife corridors between Bearley and surrounding villages.
Increased air and noise pollution.
Vehicles flooding our roads and even more traffic gridlock in Bearley, Snitterfield, Stratford, Henley- it’s bad enough already.
Unnecessary development of green belt land.
New town divided by the dangerous A3409- risking children’s safety as they cross.
Damaging biodiversity.

Bearley will be forever destroyed by this act of environmental destruction. The inate charm and character will be destroyed, the supporting health and education services are already at capacity. The catastophic risk to mental health, whereby our precious countryside is a saving grace for many, will be clumsily destroyed by a reckless government. I strenuously reject such a plan with every sinew and fibre of my soul.

Road infrastructure insufficient to cope with increase in extra traffic, potentially leading to many cars taking to using rat runs through narrow villages. Congestion is already a big problem in this area. Local transport is poor, leading to the necessity to use cars to access services. These services, such as schools, hospitals and GP's are already heavily overstretched. Flooding is a big local problem with main access road flooded constantly with run off from fields and the railway. Wilmcote is an important tourist area for visitors from around the world and the development would destroy this, damaging the local economy.

Stratford population is decreasing, it does not need more houses.
Stratford has already had more new builds per capita than anywhere in England.
The schools, shops, doctors, and road networks are already over stretched. Constant traffic which is causing more and more damage to our environment. Funding for everything is being cut, schools, health care and roads.
Local councillors are the only people who will benefit from these houses. This is not democracy.

The ranking of BW as a more suitable site appears to be solely based on the 'deliverabiity' of the site, given that all landowners have offered their land for the project. All other considerations of suitability have either been ignored - such as Wilmcote's importance as a heritage site of national importance - or downgraded, such as transport problems, proximity to the village of a 'new settlement' and its green belt and conservation status.

The town already has constant traffic, the local amenities are over stretched. Schools and hospitals cannot cope with the amount of people in the area now. Local funding is being reduced every year. These houses cannot be supported by the local community.
The loss of farm fields, green space, and countryside is devastating. This land needs to be protected to stop the urban sprawl that has already gone too far.

The development will bring added traffic to an area which does not have the resources to cope. As a mother of a young child, the increase in cars (and the danger of the extra cars to children/road safety including crossing the Birmingham road fo the train station) as well as the added pollution worries me.
Also the impact on flooding and the wildlife that the new housing will bring.
Brown belt should be utilised before green belt. Green belt should not be used merely because it is easier & cheaper to develop.
