Stop building sprawling car-dependent suburbia. You are killing people with these decisions. Cars kill people, stop making people have to get in their cars to get to places. Build high density walkable neighbourhoods with active travel infrastructure.

Paint is not cycling infrastructure.
Buses are bad public transport.
Don't build any detached houses.

Destruction of Greenbelt & Farmland – SG15 and SG16 would permanently damage Wellesbourne’s landscape, agriculture, and food security.

Harm to Wildlife – Development threatens designated wildlife sites, displacing species and increasing roadkill.

Strain on Infrastructure – Roads, healthcare, schools, and services are already overstretched.

Traffic & Transport Issues – Increased congestion with no viable public transport solutions.

Unbalanced Housing Distribution – Concentrated large-scale developments benefit developers, not communities.

Overdevelopment – Wellesbourne has exceeded housing needs for 25 years, yet more is being imposed.

Unsustainable Growth – Urgent need for balanced, environmentally responsible alternatives.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Summary: As a concerned homeowner in Wellesbourne, I strongly object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan. While I understand the need for development, the plan threatens the character of our village, increases flood risks, and lacks adequate transport connections. The reliance on cars would worsen traffic and pollution, while valuable farmland would be lost, harming local agriculture. With the anticipated population growth, existing schools and healthcare services, which are already strained, would struggle to cope. I urge the council to reconsider the plan to balance development with environmental preservation and community needs.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I find the consultation document challenging and time-consuming, leaving me concerned about aspects I may have missed. I believe the local plan should focus on existing infrastructure needs rather than just housing development. Wellesbourne has seen extensive growth without adequate amenities or road improvements, leading to congestion and infrastructure strain. There are significant issues with the sewage system, flood risk, and agricultural land loss. I advocate for a pause on further development to address these concerns and prioritise enhancing local facilities, especially regarding the airfield's potential for aviation use.

South Wellesbourne – SG16 – OBJECT: Significant harm to the character of the landscape – lack of rail connectivity, lack of educational facilities – primary school full, impact on existing medical/health provision and urbanisation sprawl to Wellesbourne which would lose its village status, also depletion of best and most versatile land resulting in increase to flooding risk.

I am a concerned homeowner in Wellesbourne, opposing the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan. After 25 years in this village, I cherish its unique character and quality of life. The development would harm our picturesque landscape and increase flood risks. The severe flooding of 2007 proves that Wellesbourne is vulnerable. The lack of rail connectivity would heighten car reliance, worsening traffic and pollution. Additionally, losing valuable farmland threatens local agriculture. The plan neglects the need for expanded educational and health facilities. I urge the council to consider alternative development sites and necessary infrastructure improvements.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I acknowledge new housing is needed but the proposed Plan presents serious issues. SG15/SG16 threaten Wellesbourne's character and pose significant flood risks, increasing vulnerability in an area that has flooded before. Lack of rail connectivity will lead to greater reliance on cars, worsening traffic and air quality. The loss of farmland is detrimental to local agriculture and community. The scale of development risks transforming Wellesbourne into a town, undermining its unique spirit. The plan fails to address the need for educational and healthcare facilities. Please reconsider and balance growth with preservation of our environment, community, and quality of life.

I would like to object to the 300 homes planned for Kineton Road, Wellesbourne. Over a short space of time the village has grown with estates towards Ettington and the village has to accommodate a large increase of residents with no noticeable increase of facilities or improvements to infrastructure. The Kineton Road plan will create further traffic congestion within Wellesbourne and the A429, further requirements to doctors, dentists and school facilities and build on valuable agricultural land at a time when being self sufficient in food and reducing food miles is so important.

I am a concerned resident of Wellesbourne, objecting to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan due to its potential lasting harm to our village. The large-scale developments would damage our landscape's character and beauty, permanently altering our rural charm. Flood risk is a significant concern, as further development would increase surface water runoff. The lack of rail connectivity would worsen traffic congestion and pollution. Additionally, losing our best farmland is unacceptable, impacting local agriculture. The scale of development threatens our village status, and there is no plan for additional schools or healthcare services. I urge the council to reconsider these proposals

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

In the past 10 years previous local development plans have suggested the objectives for Wellesbourne, Lighthorne and Gaydon have been met. It has also previously been said that the floodplain around Wellesbourne Airfield and Charlecote should be protected.

The current proposals suggest any green space within Wellesbourne could be built over. This is unfair and undemocratic, especially considering the strain on local infrastructure like roads and healthcare. The potential construction traffic could worsen existing issues, particularly during market days. Local government must actively engage residents, providing detailed plans and meetings for community input to avoid perceptions of disregarding public opinion.

As a concerned homeowner in Wellesbourne, I object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan due to its potential harm to our landscape, increased flood risk, and lack of rail connectivity. The development threatens to alter our village character and relies heavily on cars, worsening traffic and pollution. Additionally, it risks the loss of vital farmland and does not adequately address the need for educational and health facilities, which will be strained by population growth. I urge the council to reconsider the plan to ensure it balances growth with environmental and community preservation.

As a resident of Wellesbourne, I would like to register my objection to the current proposed future housing development plans on the ground that it would be over-development of an area where there is already not sufficient infrastructure for the existing housing let alone any further building. For example the primary school is already over-subscribed. We already have 25 years worth of new housing agreed in this area - enough is enough.

As a concerned homeowner in Wellesbourne, I object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan due to several significant issues. The development threatens the character of our landscape, increases flood risk, and lacks adequate rail connectivity, leading to more traffic and pollution. The loss of versatile farmland is concerning for local agriculture, while overdevelopment jeopardises our village status. Additionally, the plan does not address the need for expanded educational and health facilities amid population growth. As a homeowner in Wellesbourne, I strongly object to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan SG16 due to several significant issues. Recent developments have already strained local infrastructure, particularly the oversubscribed primary school. Increased housing will exacerbate traffic congestion, leading to longer journey times and safety risks. The plan threatens the picturesque landscape and raises concerns about flooding in a vulnerable area. Additionally, the loss of versatile farmland is a vital issue for local agriculture. I urge the council to reconsider the plan, prioritising community preservation and quality of life.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I have several objections regarding the proposed housing development. Firstly, the environmental impact will worsen pollution and noise levels. Traffic and parking issues will increase, and Wellesbourne's character is already strained from past expansions without adequate amenities. Local schools are at capacity, and additional houses will exacerbate traffic problems. Flooding risks are significant, and new impermeable surfaces will worsen this, especially since the existing SUDS scheme has been ineffective. Lastly, the development will encroach on valuable farmland, undermining our self-sufficiency in food production.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I find the current proposal inappropriate due to several reasons. It will disproportionately harm Wellesbourne and its rural surroundings, leading to adverse community and environmental impacts. Poor public transport will exacerbate traffic congestion and pollution. The replacement of farmland with hard surfaces raises flooding risks in a vulnerable area. Additionally, it will negatively affect local flora and fauna, while the sewage treatment system is already insufficient. The loss of agricultural land threatens local agriculture and national self-sufficiency, and current services cannot accommodate the expected population increase. I urge consideration of these concerns.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

As a Wellesbourne resident, I am deeply concerned about the excessive development planned for our already densely populated area, which lacks adequate infrastructure. There are insufficient healthcare, dental, and educational facilities, with current provisions already overwhelmed. The proposed development also increases flood risk due to rising river levels and inadequate drainage. Additionally, developing farmland threatens local wildlife and ecology. I believe that if further development occurs, it is crucial that additional health and education facilities are mandatory, to preserve our community and environment for existing residents.

As a concerned homeowner in Wellesbourne, I object to the South Warwickshire Local Plan due to critical issues it presents. The development threatens our unique landscape and increases flood risks. The site lacks rail connectivity, which would lead to traffic congestion and pollution. Additionally, it risks the loss of valuable farmland, undermining local agriculture. The scale of the development could transform Wellesbourne from a village into a town, eroding community spirit. The plan also neglects the need for expanded educational and health facilities. I urge the council to reconsider the plan for a balance between growth and preservation.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am writing to express my deepest concern at the local plan covering future expansion around Wellesbourne.

The plan indicates considerable expansion beyond the existing village boundaries without any consideration for the expansion of facilities and amenities commensurate with a town, which surely Wellesbourne will become if any further expansion is permitted.

The existing amenities, including the medical centre, school and supporting infrastructure are at capacity now. Further development will tip the village into a soulless dormitory for surrounding towns without any consideration for improvements in transport infrastructure, adding to congestion and pollution.

If the plan were to include additional amenities befitting a town and Wellesbourne granted such status I would be minded to be more sympathetic towards the plan.

I am objecting to the proposed South Warwickshire Local Plan, as I believe it will harm Wellesbourne's character and landscape. The village has already faced significant overdevelopment, leading to traffic congestion, inadequate facilities, and increased flood risks. I am concerned about losing vital farmland and the impact on local agriculture. The lack of public transport and infrastructure cannot support further growth, and existing services are already strained. With many properties for sale nearby, there seems no need for additional housing. I urge the council to reconsider these plans for the community's wellbeing.

I am objecting to the proposed housing development in Wellsbourne, a village I recently moved to for its tranquillity and beautiful scenery. I am writing to express my deep concern regarding the proposed housing developments in Wellesbourne, which could bring thousands more cars and residents to an already overburdened village. I understand and accept all villages and townes need to be prepared for some additional housing developments. However, Wellesbourne has experienced significant growth, absorbing many new residents over the last 15 years. In short many of us feel Wellesourne has meet the housing requirement and should no longer be considered as an area for further development.

The existing infrastructure struggles with traffic congestion, noise, and health impacts. Additionally, local services are at capacity, and green spaces are at risk. The Dentist can not take on anymore clients. The recently built large Doctors is almost full to capacity. I urge a reconsideration of this plan.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I object to the SWLP for Wellesbourne due to increased traffic, which burdens already overused roads and harms the environment. The local school is full, adding pressure to outlying schools and worsening traffic and parking issues. Local amenities, including dentists and doctors, are at capacity. The village faces flooding problems despite mitigation efforts, and any new development threatens prime agricultural land, contrary to government aims. The allotments, established in 1838, lack legal protection due to their private ownership, a mistake acknowledged by local officials. They should remain designated green space.
