Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

My objection relates to the Clopton Corner part of SQ18.
This is greenbelt Land. I strongly believe it should never have been included for consideration. Those who decided to include it should take a hard look at themselves.
It will increase urban sprawl with loss of openness adjacent to the Welcome Hills nature reserve. It will adversely impact the local community and wildlife alike. Increased traffic from 700 additional homes in this area will be catastrophic for the over capacity gridlocked Birmingham Road leading into Stratford. Building here will cause additional flooding issues to existing residential sites already experiencing flooding.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Yet further developments in this area, is making Stratford become a large town/City, not the quaint Market town that is was built to be and that attracts co many visitors. Yet more traffic, be it cars, buses or train (if it's improved) meas that it will no long be an attractive place to live.

Huge amounts of development have already taken place in Stratford and beyond. this has removed all character, damaged roads, does not impact positively on surrounding areas nor does it attract more tourists. Housing is characterless and not in keeping with the area

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

This is regarding any green belt land around Stratford that is being considered for housing.

This would be a devastating loss to wildlife and local walking areas. So important for health and well being. We are tarmacing over everything. Sewers can’t cope. Public services can’t cope.

The traffic around Stratford is already horrendous, the A46 a nightmare, Longbridge and the M40 always backed up, commuting to and from work to Warwick on these routes is miserable. I avoid the shops as traffic is so bad, hence shopping online, leading to the demise of the high street.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

These are highly visible greenbelt landscapes where one would experience the city spilling into the landscape at a site where prominent Stratford heritage meets a much loved and much frequented place where people enjoy the open spaces. One could hardly think of a more inappropriate site - not least given that it is also right next to a nature reserve.
This part of Stratford is already suffering from a lot of congestion both from traffic entering Stratford and passing by Stratford on the A46, so additional housing would put a substantial strain on the creaking infrastructure.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The detrimental affect on wildlife & protected species in the Welcombe hills
* The irreversible impact on the open landscape enjoyed from the Nature reserve
* The greenbelt land & special landscape area is a key asset to the community & turning the area into an urban one takes this away.
*the area is already prone to flooding, additional house will only exacerbate flood risk

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

My objections relate to the Clopton Quarter: We have already heavily developed on this area, Green Belt land, which should remain an open 'green space' If this proposed area was also developed, in addition to the new build houses already built, we would be getting dangerously close to the Welcombe Hills, Turning it into more of a 'city park' than the beautiful, natural site it is today. It would increase the boundary of Stratford upon Avon, which has already seen more than it's fair share of 'growth' of new houses, compared to anywhere else in the UK!

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Relating to the Clopton Quarter: To build on this land would irreversibly ruin the surrounding area, which has already seen so much 'new housing' in recent years. It would destroy greenbelt land, encroach on the Welcombe Hills, making it feel more like a 'City park' than the beautiful heritage site that it is today. The Birmingham road and surrounding area cannot cope with any more traffic congestion that would be inevitable with even more new housing . This would be too much urban sprawl into the surrounding green space - ruining it for generations.

We should be protecing our wild spaces.
New developments around Stratford need local provisions, such as local shops and other community resoursces to alleviate the pressure on the town centre.
Better public transport to alleviate the increase of cars in and around Stratford.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

My Objection is for the Clopton Quarter:
1 Greenbelt Land: Loss of openness would irreversibly encroach on the Welcombe Hills Nature Reserve, a vital asset to the local and town community and not be encroached by urban sprawl of 700 new houses.
2 Landscape: SG18 would be highly visible from the local landscape and necessitate loss of hedgerows and habitats.
3 Ecology: Clopton Quarter joins Clopton House Meadow Local Nature Reserve and is close to the Welcombe Hills.
4 Air Quality & Traffic: Birmingham Road air quality is poor.
5 Flooding: The site is within Flood Zones 2 & 3.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I have a strong objection to SG18 being developed around Bordon Hill. We have seen increased flooding of Shottery Brook since the development north of Evesham Rd. Further development around Bordon Hill, must surely make this worse - affecting the homes along Luddington Road, Stannells Close, where I live.

I object to further mass building in Stratford upon Avon. This area is biodiverse and this will be lost if new houses are built.
There are already empty buildings in the town centre that should be repurposed first.
An absolute travesty to even suggest building on Green Belt Land.

Ymatebydd: Mr JAMES STEWART

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I strongly object to homes being built on the Clopton Quarter. This development would destroy valuable green belt land, harming the natural landscape and biodiversity. It threatens local ecology, endangering wildlife habitats. Increased traffic will worsen air quality, impacting residents' health. The area’s infrastructure cannot support the additional congestion. Furthermore, the risk of flooding will rise due to the loss of natural drainage. Preserving this land is crucial for the environment and future generations. This proposal is unsustainable and should be rejected. This urban sprawl will destroy the Welcombe Hills nature reserve.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

The negative impacts of urban sprawl into this area outweigh the benefits. This is greenbelt land, designated to maintain the character of South Warwickshire's rural areas, and protect the character of landscapes such as Welcome Hills. This is a special landscape area and of huge value to local communities- residents' physical and mental well-being is enhanced by access to such landscapes. The biodiversity in surrounding hedgerows is huge, with native and migratory birds/insects/mammals etc. Pressure on infrastructure, e.g. Birmingham Road also negatively affects well being and environmental challenges e.g. air quality. Flood mitigation would also be adversely effected.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Stratford upon Avon continues to become an urban sprawl, detracting from historic charm of town and fame as international tourist attraction. A green belt space, development will impact visually with a loss of openness as you approach the west side, in addition, the Clopton & Welcombe Hills Country park will be encroached upon, another tourist attraction (Monarch Way), as well as important local space, used extensively by local people. A wildlife corridor, home to roe deer, muntjac and numerous birds, resulting in direct loss of habitat to wildlife. Traffic pollution exacerbated on Birmingham Road, already heavily congested, with further flooding.

This is regarding Clopton Quarter. This land forms part of the critical wildlife areas for protected species as part of the Welcombe hills area. Any development on this land would have an irreversible impact on the outlook from the nature reserve, and the proposed parcel of land for Clopton Quarter forms a valuable asset for the community and existing residents in the Clopton area.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

Stratford upon Avon can not expand as the existing roads are insufficient for traffic travelling to, from and through Stratford upon Avon. Traffic travelling through Stratford upon Avon needs a completed ring road and additional bridges over the Avon river. Visitors and locals travelling to Stratford upon Avon by car are discouraged by the traffic congestion and limited parking. This explains the decline of shopping which is not being replaced.
SG18 means Stratford will be connected to the proposed BW and therefore Bishopton, Wilmcote, Pathlow, Bearley will be part of Stratford upon Avon.

Irreversible damage to local ecological landscape and wildlife, catastrophic levels of traffic gridlock on A46/Birmingham Road leading to significant damage to current residents quality of life, flooding risk significant, destruction of historical greenbelt land and encroachment on Special Landscape Area and Welcome Hills Nature Reserve, degradation of already poor air quality and increased light pollution, total lack of supporting infrastructure within the town - doctors/dentists/schools etc.
