Land Off Collingham Lane, Long Itchington Site 676
Site has been refused permission at Appeal twice. APP/J3720/W/23/3333525 - April 2024 & APP/J3720/W/22/3298087 - January 2022. Why is it still being considered? The land is in direct site lines of a valued landscape as identified in the LI Neighbourhood Plan. The appeal decision stated "the proposal would have a suburbanising effect which would mean that the site’s landscape character as a small field would be lost, as would its contribution to the landscape as an attractive extension of countryside into the village" Site should be taken out of SWLP.

Grange Farm Budbrooke parts A & B REFID 621
*Open Green Belt is the reason I live here, it is the most valued asset for local residents. It is vital for physical and mental health that these spaces are protected. Local foot/bridal paths are widely used.
*Development means a significant loss of wildlife habitat and much needed biodiversity.
*Local roads are totally unsuitable for the increased traffic, in places there is insufficient space for 2 vehicles to pass, and blind bends with no footpaths making them dangerous in places.
*These lanes are used as rat-runs avoiding congestion on the A4177!

Old Budbrooke Road (Ref 233)
Objection on the basis of residential development resulting in loss of natural drainage capacity and significant increased flood risk in an areas already prone to poor drainage and flooding on road. Increasing duration and frequency of roads becoming impassible.
Inappropriate development of green belt resulting in habitat and biodiversity loss. inconsistent with biodiversity net gain policies
Insufficient capacity at the GP and school to accommodate demand resulting from additional residents
Loss of visual amenity and rural character of the area
Additional traffic will be generated on roads and collision safety risk
Inadequate water supply infrastructure

The new HELAA assessment is inadequate and should be more comprehensive and include agricultural land value and should include an element of local input from Parish Councils. In addition, the HELAA should take into account previous land assessments eg: SDC SHLAA process and previous planning appeal and Public Enquiry decisions on land use. The call for sites in Welford on Avon includes land that is contrary to the Welford NDP Policy HE6 and has been rejected at a Public Enquiry.

REFID 119. Part Grange Farm, Budbrooke.
**This is a Green Belt area; there is sufficient capacity within Strategic Growth locations on non GB areas for 48.5k dwellings.
*Further loss of farmland will is decreasing our food sustainability.
*Housing needs can be met without building on GB; Local Plans own Sustainability Appraisal shows Strategic Growth locations have the capacity for 4.5k dwellings, with New Settlements having a further 6k capacity NEITHER on Green Belt.
*Local GP and school are at capacity, more dwellings mean residents travelling out of are for medical care and education.

would support expansion of the village, ensuring it retains its character
Existing local services are essential to the community, therefore, require development to maintain them. This site can deliver this in a sustainable manner and location
The site is single 'willing' ownership so is deliverable
Would attract SME sized developers - not just the volume housebuilders - because of scale and the fact that there are no huge infrastructure obstacles to address
Would deliver affordable housing
Could offer part of the site for Custom/Self-Build housing
A large part of this site is previously developed land (including the man made lakes).

Oppose land being removed from the greenbelt, alongside other comments about the unique position of Leek Wootton & Guy's Cliffe as the green belt buffer zone between Kenilworth and Warwick, all HELAA sites along Coventry Road/Warwick Road (REFIDs 93, 116, 2, 603 and 177) degrade the precious greenbelt and cause conurbanisation of Kenilworth and Warwick.
REFID 231 contributes towards the conurbanisation of Leamington and Kenilworth along Leamington Road. The site is only accessible from a single track country lane and historic single track bridge - installing the required infrastructure will destroy the heritage and biodiversity of the surrounding area.

With regards to the area E07000221 located adjacent to Marton Road, Long Itchington (marked Greenways on the map), we do not believe the building infrastructure in the surrounding area such as water drainage, water pressure, waste removal, car parking, road speed and the increase in number of vehicles on local roads could support further development in this area of the village of Long Itchington.

Swallowfield REFID 235
The site can only be accessed from a rural narrow road, Rising Lane and is inherently dangerous .Lapworth station only provides 16 car parking spaces the line is at capacity and the trains are infrequent and not suitable for workplace access . The road down to Lapworth station from Swallowfied is Station Lane again a narrow dangerous road it already has primary school parental traffic and pedestrians. There is a chapel on station lane without car parking which already renders the lane very congested with parked cars.

This is innappropriate development in green belt land - it does not provide a good return due the small amount of land avaialble.
Local traffic levels are already at capacity through the village during peak hours, this will worsen the issues.
The water supply is already an issue - it will not cope with additional residential properties without significant investment and disruption.
The local schools, GP and hospital are are already at capacity.

This development on green belt land is inappropriate as the limited available space does not offer a good return for the disruption caused. Local traffic is already at capacity during peak hours, and this project will exacerbate the problem. The water supply is already a problem with frequent burst pipes and cannot support additional residential properties without significant investment and disruption. Furthermore, local schools, the GP, and the hospital are already operating at full capacity.

The proposed development on green belt land at this scale is unnecessary and inappropriate. The sites are too distant from any existing village to benefit from existing infrastructure so additional road capacity, rail services, cycles lanes etc will need to be built in advance of the development to ensure a sustainable growth area for the region.
Local traffic levels are already at capacity during peak hours, and this project will exacerbate the existing congestion.
Also, local schools, the general practice, and the hospital are already operating at full capacity.

REFID 51 Land at Hampton on the Hill. Size is disproportionate to total existing hamlet and will change the character irrevocably. Existing mix of houses, built in stages over centuries, will become dominated by a single alien vernacular. Maps suggest it’s behind existing dwellings but topography mean it’s more visible than the rest of the hamlet combined. Insufficient infrastructure exists to support the volume of houses the site could hold and water supply is already patchy for residents with multiple days without running water each year. Increased traffic outside homes of vulnerable residents is dangerous.

Site: E1 land at Long Marston. We are concerned at the level of development proposed at this site. Traffic congestion in this area is already an issue and local roads cannot sustain the level of traffic resulting from this development. The area will become more congested and unsafe to all residents. Other sites north of the river will be much more appropriate. Other local infrastructure also cannot sustain additional housing, eg flooding fisk and sewage.

Mill Lane Kingswood ref 53 and ref 761
Access onto Mill Lane is hazardous due to its narrowness a very tight bend by the sites and a very steep hump back bridge. The land is often waterlogged. If access is onto Old Warwick Road it is a narrow 'B' road very restricted in width by the width of the railway bridge with only a very narrow pavement not wide enough for wheelchair or pushchair to one side of the bridge. Station facilities poor both for parking possibilities and is only step free access in one direction and a infrequent service

REFID 55 Land South of Chichester Lane, Hampton Magna. Inappropriate development of green belt. Detrimental impact on local residents who have already dealt with two new sites which damaged trees, hedges and local infrastructure including properties and railway bridge. Reduced local cohesion already seen including increased crime. Further development would do the same again. Insufficient infrastructure, doctors/shops/school, to support new homes. Significant negative impact from further traffic. Will cause increased flooding on A46. Insufficient water supply and drainage at the site.

All sites in Kingswood and lapworth
The electricity supply is poor and already there are power cuts. Much is supplied by overhead cables
Parking at lapworth station is restricted to 16 places and the line is at capacity and provides an infrequent service in both directions There is only stepfree access in one direction at the station. Old Warwick Road running through lapworth to which all sites would eventually feed is narrow B road with hump back bridges and a narrow railway bridge with only a narrow pavement too narrow for a wheelchair/pushchair under it on one side
