Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am writing to object the proposed planning for Hockley Heath SG24.

I have been a resident of Hockley Heath for 8 years, the reason we moved here was to start a family and enjoy the benefits of village life, to include, quieter roads (safer for our young children) small local school, beautiful scenery and a perfect sense of community. I strongly feel that if these plans are put in place these will all be totally altered to something alien to what we desire and deserve

The impact will be huge on our village and in my opinion totally unnecessary.

Please listen to the mass of people from my village who really object to this and take it in.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

As a relatively new resident of Hockley Heath, I am concerned about Warwickshire's plan SG24, which could negatively impact our community. I value the quiet nature of my street, and we bought the house with knowledge that permission to make Park View a through road was previously rejected due to safety concerns. While I recognise the housing shortage, I believe the focus should be on affordable housing near amenities, rather than expensive homes in isolated areas. I am committed to opposing any future attempts to change Park View's status, as enough development has already compromised our village's character.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I formally object to designating Hockley Heath (SG24) as a Strategic Growth Location in the South Warwickshire Local Plan. Having lived here for eight years, I believe this development threatens our village's rural character and community. Key concerns include the potential loss of village identity, strain on inadequate infrastructure and local services, increased traffic congestion and safety risks, flooding issues due to poor drainage, and encroachment on protected Green Belt land. I urge the council to reconsider this proposal and select more suitable locations for housing growth. Thank you for considering my views.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I believe that further development in Hockley Heath would exacerbate existing surface water drainage issues and adversely affect any new homes. The village lacks the necessary infrastructure for such a large project, and it would significantly increase traffic on the already congested A3400, raising accident risks. This development contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan, which only supports small-scale projects. Additionally, the burden on Solihull for services would be unfair, leading to inter-council disputes. The proposed site is also on Green Belt land, which should be preserved for wildlife and community well-being.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I strongly object to the proposed development in Hockley Heath due to existing surface water drainage issues that would worsen with more homes. The village lacks adequate infrastructure for education, health, and transport to support such development. Increased traffic on the already congested A3400 raises accident risks. The development contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan, which allows only small-scale projects. Moreover, the burden on Solihull for services would be unfair and likely lead to disputes. Additionally, building on Green Belt land would harm wildlife and diminish residents' well-being.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am concerned about the proposed expansion of our small village from 700 to 5000 homes, which would overwhelm our inadequate infrastructure. Flooding is a frequent issue on the A34, and we lack essential services such as a chemist or doctor within 2 miles. Increased traffic from a larger population would exacerbate existing problems. Additionally, significant loss of Green Belt would harm wildlife and biodiversity. Our only school could not manage this growth, transforming our village into an urban area like Dorridge, Knowle, and Shirley. I hope my comments are considered in decision-making.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I strongly object to the development plans for Hockley Heath outlined in "SG24." The loss of Green Belt would undermine the area's semi-rural character. Existing infrastructure cannot support the current 700 homes, let alone an additional 5,000, as there are no doctors, chemists, or sufficient schools. The limited recreation area is inadequate, and traffic issues would worsen, especially accessing the A34. Furthermore, flooding on Stratford Road during heavy rain raises concerns about additional development. I was under the impression that development would be small-scale, and this plan disregards that understanding.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I oppose the development plan for Hockley Heath, where I've lived since 1979. The proposal for nearly 6000 new houses would drastically alter our small village of around 750 homes, contradicting Solihull MBC's assertion that only small-scale development is appropriate. We already face drainage issues, low water pressure, and traffic congestion on the A34. The destruction of green space threatens wildlife and goes against our government's commitment to reverse nature loss. Our village is on the fringe of Solihull but we have limited infrastructure, including primary school, doctor, pharmacy and public transport. Any proposed development falls within South Warwickshire but the burden of supplying these services falls to Solihull.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I am expressing my concerns about the house building proposals in Hockley Heath, a village I have known since 1970. The plans to increase housing from around 750 to over 5000 would overwhelm our community, which lacks essential amenities, public transport, and adequate road infrastructure. As a disabled person reliant on a scooter, I fear for my safety on the roads, which are already inadequate. Additionally, the proposals threaten wildlife habitats and the character of our village, while the local councils seem unable to manage the impact of such development.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I have studied the proposals for hockley heath. I find them totally inappropriate for a village of 700 houses. I list the following reasons.
1 The size of the increase will totally change the village.
2 The infrastructure is not in place( is in Solihull area) i.e. doctors, chemists, schools.
3 Roads are already overwhelmed at peak times
4 Regular flooding in some parts of Stratford Road
5 Cutting down of many ancient trees (if I wanted to do this it would rightly not be allowed)
These are the main reasons my wife and I believe these are ill thought out plans. It seems it is far easier to build on nice flat fields rather than converting industrial sights. More slow considered developments would take the public with the council not create the genuine anger that I can feel in Hockley Heath.

I wish to object to the proposed development around SG24 due to its potential adverse effects on our village. The scale of the development would exacerbate existing traffic issues, strain our limited bus services, and overwhelm the already busy doctors' surgery and primary school. Additionally, flooding problems during heavy rain could worsen. As a resident of Hockley Heath for 25 years, I value our small, quiet village and believe it is unfair to encroach on our Greenbelt land when there are better alternatives elsewhere.

I formally oppose the inclusion of SG24 in the SWLP. As a Hockley Heath resident for over 35 years, I am deeply concerned about the reckless development scale and flawed justification for SG24. I formally oppose the inclusion of SG24 in the SWLP as a Hockley Heath resident of over nine years. I believe the proposed development is excessive, threatens our village identity, and disregards the ongoing review of the Solihull Local Plan. The plan fails to justify the release of Green Belt land and overlooks viable alternatives. It also poses serious risks to local biodiversity, infrastructure capacity, and flood management. The current proposal is unsustainable and would irreparably harm Hockley Heath’s character and quality of life. SG24 cannot proceed in its current format within the SWLP.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

As a resident of Hockley Heath, I am concerned about the large-scale housing developments proposed by South Warwickshire Council. Our village, with only 700 homes, lacks the necessary infrastructure to support this increase. The local primary school cannot accommodate additional pupils, and our already congested roads will suffer further from increased traffic. We also lack adequate healthcare facilities, and the burden of new population in terms of health, transport, schooling, refuse collection etc would fall on Solihull Council who have opposed the development. Additionally, the area has drainage issues, and developing on Green Belt land would harm local biodiversity.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I recognise the need for housing but express concerns about the proposal for Hockley Heath. There is a questionable use of facts and a lack of consideration for the impact on local services, which are already stretched, particularly in schools and health services. Flooding is a significant issue, and public transport is limited, making it hard for those without cars. Solihull's plan for only 100 new homes suggests a more cautious approach. I fear that this development would transform Hockley Heath from a village into a small town, losing its character and sense of community.

I strongly object to the proposed development of Hockley Heath (SG24 of the South Warwickshire Local Plan). When purchasing my home, I valued its greenbelt location, which should protect it from such developments. The area lacks the necessary infrastructure to support additional housing, and increased traffic will exacerbate congestion on already narrow roads, posing risks to pedestrians. Local amenities are insufficient, particularly for teenagers, and the healthcare services are inadequate. This development would harm our village's identity and well-being. I urge Warwick District Council to cancel any plans for this development.

Hockley Heath SG24 Objection

To whoever it may concern,

I am writing to you to object to this proposal for a number of reasons which I have listed below:
- There are not enough services such as GPs, schools, or public transport to support 10,000 people. There is one primary school, no GP, and little public transport as the nearest train station is in Dorridge.
- Traffic would significantly increase on the Stratford Road/A34 which would cause even more congestion. The A34 is already very congested, especially when there are issues on the M40/M42.
- This development would have a severe impact on the biodiversity and wildlife in Hockey Heath.
- The loss of green space would negatively affect the mental health of existing and new residents, as many residents use this green space for exercise, wellbeing, and dog-walking.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I oppose the development at Hockley Heath SG24 for several reasons. A significant portion lies in South Warwickshire, which lacks local schools and health services, placing an unfair burden on Solihull. This is unfair and would lead to ongoing disputes between Councils over funding in the future. The village's infrastructure cannot support such growth, and existing drainage issues would worsen with additional development. All of the land is designated Green Belt, which should only be built on in exceptional circumstances. Increased traffic on the already congested A34 poses safety risks. This proposal contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan for small-scale development and threatens local wildlife, green space, and the unique character of Hockley Heath.

I formally object to the South Warwickshire Local Plan, particularly SG24 affecting Hockley Heath. This beautiful village in Solihull would face significant burdens from the proposed development, including increased pressure on schooling and transport, which Solihull council has opposed. The development threatens the village's character and the surrounding green belt, which should only be built upon in exceptional circumstances. Local wildlife, including deer and bats, would face catastrophic consequences. I urge you to protect our green spaces and biodiversity for future generations and preserve the beauty of our countryside.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I have several objections to the proposed SG24 development in Hockley Heath. There are existing water drainage issues on Stratford Road, and I fear further development will exacerbate these problems, potentially leading to local flooding. This development contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan, which supports only small-scale projects in the area. It would also increase traffic congestion on both the A3400 and Aylesbury Road, harm wildlife, and diminish green space, negatively affecting residents' wellbeing. Additionally, the village lacks the necessary infrastructure for education, health, and transport. There may be funding disputes over the burden of new population, especially as Solihull has opposed the development.

I oppose the proposed development at Hockley Heath, which aims to increase the village from around 700 homes to up to 5000, representing a 700% rise. This contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan, which supports only small-scale development. The added traffic from 4000 new homes would worsen congestion and increase CO2 emissions, risking accidents on already strained roads. Additionally, the proposal would burden Solihull with health, transport, refuse, and schooling issues. I believe this development would severely impact our village and quality of life.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I oppose the proposed SG24 development in Hockley Heath for several reasons. Hockley Heath is a small village of less than 1000 properties. By adding such a large number of additional properties, the village's character would drastically change. Our already limited healthcare facilities would be overwhelmed, and the lack of public transport means the development would depend entirely on cars, worsening air quality. The A34 is a key alternative route when the motorways are closed. When this happens, there is already a significant impact to traffic flow through village. Existing schools cannot accommodate the additional children. Environmental impacts would be severe, and local hospitals already struggle with current demands. The local area, in particular A34, already suffers with significant surface flooding issues. Additional large scale development in Hockley Heath has already been considered and ruled out by Solihull MBC. The SG24 proposal essentially envelopes an area of Solihull within the very far reaches of Warwickshire. This will create confusion around response for different county emergency services.

I object to the potential development (SG24) in Hockley Heath for several reasons. There are existing surface water drainage issues that would worsen with further development. The area is designated as Green Belt, suitable for building only in exceptional circumstances. This development contradicts Solihull MBC's local plan, which allows only small-scale projects in Hockley Heath. It would increase traffic significantly on the A34 and surrounding roads, harm wildlife, and alter the village's character. Additionally, Hockley Heath lacks the necessary infrastructure to support this development, and it unfairly places burdens on Solihull.

Crynodeb o'r Gynrychiolaeth:

I object to the proposed development around Hockley Heath, as all of the land is green belt and agricultural land, which would harm wildlife habitats and farmland, and limit residents' access to the countryside. The village currently has around 700 houses, this development would increase its size to nearly 4,000 completely changing its rural identity. The area lacks infrastructure, with no doctors' surgery, pharmacy, or sufficient schools and public transport. Flooding issues on local roads would worsen, and current traffic congestion is problematic, especially on Spring Lane, which is used by large lorries. Any houses built would be in Warwickshire the occupants would look to Solihull MBC for facilities which would be unfair in terms of funding. Also, this development would drastically increase the village's size and contradict Solihull MBC's small-scale development guidelines, while also lacking essential services like mains drainage and gas.

The area lacks sufficient amenities, such as schools and transport links, to support the additional population. The traffic, particularly on Stratford Road, is already problematic, and issues with flooding and drainage will worsen with climate change. The Green Belt should protect the environment and wildlife. Increased traffic from the proposal would exacerbate congestion and safety risks. Our infrastructure lacks the capacity for such development, affecting education, health, and transport. Current power cuts and poor phone signal would worsen with more residents. Although the development is in South Warwickshire, its impacts would unfairly burden Solihull. SG24 Hockley Heaht

I believe affordable housing is necessary for first-time buyers, but I am deeply concerned about the plan to increase housing from 700 to 5000 homes. This could lead to severe drainage issues on Stratford Road and Aylesbury Road, risking flooding in our area due to heavy clay soils. The proposed development is on Green Belt land, which should be preserved for wildlife, and excessive building would threaten local species. Our essential services would be overwhelmed, the village's character would be lost, and traffic would significantly increase, causing daily stress for residents.
